ACCELERATE 2027 – REJOIN PROTOCOL & SEASON PROTECTION

These provisions apply to participants enrolled in the Accelerate 2027 coaching programme.

Accelerate is a nine-month programme, and we recognise that nine months is real life. Work pressures, holidays, illness, injury and unexpected events may sometimes interrupt training.

The Rejoin Protocol and Season Protection have been created to provide a clear way forward when that happens.  They are designed for two different circumstances.

1. Rejoin Protocol  The Rejoin Protocol is designed for temporary interruptions to your training where you remain able and intend to continue with Accelerate 2027.
Examples might include:  a busy period at work; holidays or travel; a short illness; a minor injury; family commitments; missed training sessions; or another temporary interruption to your normal training.

The purpose of the Rejoin Protocol is to help you return to appropriate training without feeling that you need to catch up on everything you have missed.
How the Rejoin Protocol works

If your training is interrupted, you should let the Njinga coaching team know as soon as reasonably possible.  We will consider factors including:  how long you have been away from training; the reason for the interruption; your training immediately before the interruption; your current fitness and readiness to return; and where the wider Accelerate programme has progressed to.  Your coach will then provide reasonable guidance on how best to rejoin the programme.
Depending on your circumstances, this may include:  returning directly to the current programme; temporarily reducing training volume or intensity; modifying or replacing particular sessions; completing a short period of easier training before returning fully; skipping sessions or training weeks you have missed rather than attempting to catch them up; or recommending that you seek appropriate medical or professional advice before returning.

The principle is simple: don't catch up. Rejoin.  Your coach will help you establish the most appropriate route back into the programme based on your individual circumstances.

What the Rejoin Protocol does not provide  The Rejoin Protocol does not:  pause or extend your nine-month coaching membership; guarantee that missed fitness or training can be recovered within a particular period; guarantee readiness for a particular Austria challenge level; guarantee that you will achieve a particular performance result; provide medical diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation; or entitle you to a refund or credit for coaching sessions or programme content missed during a temporary interruption.  Where injury, illness or another issue may affect your ability to exercise safely, we may recommend that you obtain clearance from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before resuming training.

2. Season Protection  Season Protection is intended for more significant and unexpected circumstances where a participant genuinely becomes unable to continue with the Accelerate 2027 coaching programme.  It is different from the Rejoin Protocol.  If you have simply missed some training but are able to continue, the Rejoin Protocol will normally apply.  Season Protection is intended for circumstances where continuing the coaching programme is no longer reasonably practical.

Circumstances that may qualify  Season Protection may apply in cases such as:  significant injury; serious illness; a significant medical issue; bereavement; a serious or unexpected family situation; or another major unforeseen life event that genuinely prevents you from continuing with the programme.

It is not normally intended to cover:  holidays; ordinary work pressures; missing individual training sessions; temporary loss of motivation; deciding that you no longer wish to train; changing your mind about participating; failure to complete the prescribed training; or circumstances that can reasonably be managed through the Rejoin Protocol.

How to use Season Protection  If you believe Season Protection may apply, you should contact Njinga in writing as soon as reasonably possible and explain the circumstances preventing you from continuing.  We may ask for reasonable information to understand the circumstances and determine whether Season Protection applies. Where appropriate, this may include supporting evidence.  We will always aim to deal with requests reasonably, sensitively and on an individual basis.

What happens if Season Protection applies  Where Njinga agrees that Season Protection applies:
i. Your active participation in Accelerate 2027 coaching will end at the end of the current month you are in when notice is given.
ii. We will calculate the unused value of your Accelerate coaching from the end of that month.  For clarity, "unused value" means coaching fees attributable to the remaining part of the programme after the agreed Season Protection date.  It does not include coaching already provided or periods of the programme that have already elapsed.
iii. That unused coaching value will be held as a credit towards a future eligible Njinga coaching programme.  The credit:  is not redeemable for cash; cannot normally be transferred to another person; applies only to eligible Njinga coaching services; cannot be applied retrospectively to services already received; and must be used within 18 months of the date Season Protection is approved.

Future programme availability  Season Protection does not guarantee that Njinga will run an identical Accelerate programme, Austria challenge or equivalent programme in a future year.  The unused coaching credit may instead be applied to another eligible Njinga coaching programme agreed between the participant and Njinga.  If the future programme costs more than the available credit, the participant will be responsible for paying the difference.

3. Austria is separate  Season Protection applies to coaching, not the Austria trip.  Payments made towards the Accelerate 2027 Austria Challenge are governed separately by the Accelerate 2027 Austria Challenge Booking Conditions.  Approval of Season Protection therefore does not automatically cancel, refund, transfer or credit any amounts paid towards Austria.  If you are unable to travel to Austria, the cancellation or transfer provisions contained in the Austria Challenge Booking Conditions will apply.  Participants are strongly encouraged to maintain appropriate travel insurance covering cancellation or curtailment arising from illness, injury and other insured circumstances.

4. Season Protection is not insurance  Season Protection is an additional benefit provided by Njinga in relation to the Accelerate coaching programme.  It is not an insurance policy and should not be treated as a substitute for travel, medical, bicycle, income-protection or other appropriate insurance.  Participants remain responsible for arranging any insurance appropriate to their personal circumstances and participation in the Austria Challenge.

5. Relationship with statutory rights  The Rejoin Protocol and Season Protection are additional programme provisions and do not replace or restrict any statutory rights you may have.  Nothing in these provisions is intended to exclude or limit rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
